With a luxury hotel you know that wherever you stay, that hotel's standards will be committed to in each location. As far as we are aware, there is no similar market for holiday stays. How often have you booked properties with the same holiday agent and been disappointed when the bed is not as comfortable as the last property you stayed in or the cleanliness is not up to scratch or the inventory falls short?

THE 1402 PRIVATE RESIDENCES was established to bridge that gap in the market so guests who prefer to stay in luxury holiday cottages rather than luxury brand hotels can have a similar consistent luxury commitment.​

THE 1402 PRIVATE RESIDENCES are a luxury collection of properties each conforming to an exact standard of excellence that THE 1402 brand stands for.

Whilst each property within the collection has its own unique persona, guests know that our standards of luxury and excellence will be adhered to across the board. It is our obsessive commitment to detail, our labour of love, to ensure that you can enjoy your own piece of paradise during your stay.

This is the minimum standard for properties to be part of THE 1402 PRIVATE RESIDENCES. Some properties within the collection will even exceed this.

Platinum Standards & Values

  • Each of THE 1402 PRIVATE RESIDENCES has its own distinct character which is design led and style forward with comfort and homeliness at its core.

​

  • You will not be staying at someone’s second home where it feels like they have just walked out the door. Instead, you will be staying in the luxury of a top star hotel but with all the comforts and intimacy required of a private home.

​

  • Highest Quality Luxury commitment at each residence

    • Bedrooms will all be sumptuously set out and will include:

      • 3000 pocket sprung mattress or better

      • Duck feather & down pillows

      • French linen sheets or at least 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets

      • Luxurious white dressing gowns 

      • Fresh slippers each monogrammed with THE 1402 logo

    • You will find your sleeping experience enhanced by a Bamford pillow mist on a slate presenter with an inspirational poem​

    • Luxurious bathrooms will include:

      • White towels of at least 700g meaning that they are a sumptuous, extravagant, soft towel feel and are highly absorbent and rich in depth and feel​​

      • A bath sheet, bath towel, hand towel and makeup remover cloth for each guest​​​

      • A suite of Bamford toiletries including shampoo, conditioner and body wash​​

  • Highest Quality Inventory 

    • Luxury sofas, often handmade

    • Smart television and free unlimited WIFI

    • Nespresso compatible coffee machine

    • Kettle

    • Toaster

    • Oven & hob

    • Dishwasher

    • Washing machine/tumble dryer

    • Hoover

    • Iron and ironing board

    • Fridge/freezer

    • Hairdryer

    • Radio

  • Pristine presentation

    • Each residence will have been thoroughly cleaned throughout by our professionals before you arrive

    • All crockery and cutlery will have been through the dishwasher

    • Ovens will be cleaned and lined with fresh foil

  • Gifts To Enhance Your Enjoyment

    • THE 1402 signature complimentary hamper will be provided including at least tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter, jam and biscuits, savoury snacks and olives​

    • A complimentary bottle of local wine

    • Complimentary gin & tonic with a fresh lemon and ice cubes ready in the freezer

    • Other essentials provided for your stay include:

      • Olive oil​

      • Salt and pepper

      • Kitchen essentials including tea towels, cling film and foil, scourers and dish cloths, cleaning spray and paper towels

      • Dishwasher tablets

      • Bin liners

      • Spare lightbulbs

      • Laundry egg

      • Soft quilted toilet roll and tissues
