Burford

Burford, nestled on the banks of the River Windrush, is one of the most charming and picturesque towns in the Cotswolds, a region known for its idyllic countryside, honey-colored limestone buildings, and quintessentially English charm. You'll find first-class pubs and fine-dining options along its ancient high street and within a few minutes one can be immersed in the sweeping countryside, deemed an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; we wholeheartedly agree.

SCROLL TO EXPLORE

Burford is home to a number of gorgeous historic buildings, including the Church of St. John the Baptist, which boasts an impressive 15th-century tower and stunning stained-glass windows. Visitors can wander the town's winding streets, lined with elegant Georgian and Tudor homes, and peruse the antique shops and galleries.

For those seeking the outdoors, The Cotswolds offers seemingly unlimited opportunities to explore the surrounding countryside. Hiking and cycling trails wind through the nearby Cotswold Hills, offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills and lush green valleys. Take a leisurely stroll along the River Windrush, or try your hand at fly fishing for trout and grayling.

Here for the food? You're in good company. The area has seen a number of brilliant high-end dining options appear in the last few years, but that doesn't mean you won't find a charming, traditional pub (or three) next door.
