The community of Crans-Montana has over 10,000 inhabitants year-round and an enormous range events and experiences celebrating culture, sport and nature. Home to the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup Women, the Omega European Masters golf championship, the Caprices Festival, the Giro Valais stage of the Giro d’Italia and the year-round programme of events put on by CM Classics attract numerous visitors.

 

Winter skiing and snowboarding are enjoyed over 140km of south facing pistes between 3,000 and 1,500 metres alongside cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter trekking and ice skating as well as snow biking, fatbikes and heli-ski. In the summer world class golf courses, mountain hiking, wilderness and lake-side beach bars are some of the things that will entertain you.

 

Specialist designer boutiques and global luxury brands are to the fore in Crans-Montana, with the finest shopping in the Alps. Hermes, Montcler, Montblanc, Chopard, Louis Vuitton, Omega, Prada and Benetton all have their own outlets and many independent merchants also lead the way with luxury.

 

From a simple raclette (steamed new potato with grilled mountain cheese) up the mountainside to exquisite Michelin starred restaurants, there is a huge variety on offer to suit your dining requirements. The Valais region’s wines are Switzerland’s best kept secret, too good to be exported and the top ones are among the best in the world. In the heart of the Valais, Crans-Montana is surrounded by fine wine producers and a visit is a must.
